Preparation

Grinding & polishing

The grinding and polishing process can be divided into rough grinding, fine grinding and polishing. Choose a small grit size polishing pad to start grinding, distinguish the particle size number according to the color of the Velcro backing, and gradually increase the particle size number of diamond polishing pads to grinding or polishing, until the stone reach the gloss you need. The process of grinding and polishing is basically the same, the difference is that the abrasive grain size used in polishing is much finer than grinding, and the polishing speed is higher and the final gloss is also higher.

Stone inspection

The stone need to be inspected after the grinding and polishing of the diamond tools. The surface defects and surface gloss of the stone are mainly inspected. If any defect is found, it should be processed again immediately. The surface gloss can be checked with a specific device to see if the gloss is within the required range.
